Parental Consent Policy

Children Under 13 on Our Platform

25schools is an educational platform designed to support learners of all ages, including children under 13. We take the privacy and safety of young users very seriously.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we discover we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.

Data Collected from Children

When a child under 13 uses 25schools, we collect only the data necessary to provide the educational service:

• Name and email address (required for account creation)
• School name and grade level
• Learning data (quiz scores, assessment results, progress)
• Device notification token (FCM) for push notifications, if permission is granted

We do not collect the following from children under 13:

• Precise geolocation
• Behavioural advertising data
• Financial information
• Sensitive personal information beyond what is listed above

How We Obtain Verifiable Parental Consent

Our verifiable parental consent mechanism is our Guardian Linking System:

1. A student creates an account (with a parent/guardian's assistance for under-13 users)
2. The parent or guardian registers their own account
3. The guardian sends a link request to the student's account
4. The student approves the link — granting the guardian oversight access
5. This linking acts as the guardian's verifiable consent for the child's use of the platform

For children under 13, we strongly recommend that a parent or guardian complete the registration process and initiate the guardian link before the child begins using the platform.

Parental Rights Under COPPA

Parents and guardians of children under 13 have the following rights at any time:

• Review the personal information collected from their child
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete their child's personal information
• Refuse to permit further collection or use of their child's information
• Withdraw consent by removing the guardian link or requesting account deletion

Advertising to Children

We do not serve interest-based or behavioural advertising to users identified as children under 13. Student accounts have advertising features disabled by default.

Additional Protections for Minors

• Student accounts have enhanced privacy settings enabled by default
• Certain features (e.g. public profiles, some competitions) require age verification
• Student personal data is not shared with third-party advertisers
