An ADJECTIVE CLAUSE (also called a relative clause) modifies a noun or pronoun and begins with relative pronouns. Example: 'The student who studies hard will succeed.' The clause 'who studies hard' describes which student. Adjective clauses can be restrictive (no commas) or non-restrictive (with commas). They add descriptive information about people, things, or ideas in a sentence.
