Understanding Non-Verbal Communication Cues
Q: Which of these is an example of non-verbal communication?
Did You Know?
A SEMICOLON can join two closely related independent clauses without using a coordinating conjunction. Example: 'The sun was setting; the sky turned orange.' The semicolon shows that the two ideas are closely connected. This creates a more sophisticated compound sentence. However, the clauses must be closely related in meaning for the semicolon to be appropriate. A comma alone cannot join two independent clauses - this error is called a comma splice.
