Q: Which test confirms diagnosis of Cushing's syndrome?
Did You Know?
Pulse amplitude (or volume) refers to the force or strength of the blood pulsation against the arterial wall with each heartbeat. It is subjectively graded on a scale such as: 0 = Absent, 1+ = Weak/thready, 2+ = Normal, 3+ = Full/bounding, 4+ = Strong/bounding. Assessing amplitude provides information about stroke volume, arterial elasticity, and peripheral perfusion. A weak, thready pulse may indicate decreased cardiac output, while a bounding pulse may suggest conditions like fever, anxiety, or fluid overload.
