Q: What is a common symptom of a 'dull' microtome knife?

Did You Know?

False. Giardia lamblia is strictly an intestinal luminal parasite. It resides in the duodenum and jejunum, attached to the mucosa or free in the lumen. It does not invade the bloodstream or tissues under normal circumstances. Therefore, Giardia stages (trophozoites or cysts) are never found in peripheral blood. Diagnosis is made by finding cysts or trophozoites in stool samples, duodenal aspirates, or biopsies. Blood smears are used to diagnose blood-borne parasites like malaria (Plasmodium), filariae (microfilariae), or trypanosomes. This is a fundamental point in understanding the localization of different parasites.
