Q: A system designed to continuously improve the reliability and accuracy of test results is:
Did You Know?
True. LANA is a multifunctional protein critical for KSHV latency. One of its primary roles is to ensure the stable maintenance and replication of the viral episomal DNA in dividing host cells. LANA binds to specific sequences in the viral genome and also interacts with host chromosomes, effectively tethering the viral DNA to cellular chromatin. This allows the viral genome to be partitioned equally into daughter cells during mitosis, ensuring persistent infection.
