▶ How do quizzes work?
Browse quizzes by subject and topic, then start answering. Questions are auto-graded instantly for multiple-choice and true/false. You earn 1 point for each correct answer. Your scores appear on the leaderboard, and you can resume incomplete quizzes anytime.
▶ Where can I find study notes and past papers?
Go to the Notes section to browse study notes by subject and grade. For past exam papers, check Past Papers — we have papers from 50+ exam boards including ECZ, WAEC, JAMB, NECO, and more. You can download them directly to your device.
▶ What is the leaderboard and how do rankings work?
Every correct answer earns you points. The leaderboard ranks all students by their total points — you can filter by country or view the global rankings. There are also weekly leaderboards that reset each week, and school-specific leaderboards for your school community.
▶ What are Daily Quests?
Every day you get 4 challenges to complete: things like "Play 3 quizzes", "Win 2 challenge battles", "Get 20 correct answers", or "Watch 2 live battles". Completing them earns you bonus power-ups that you can use in challenge matches.
⚡ Live Quiz & Challenges
Real-time battles, tournaments, and ratings (app only)
▶ What is a 1v1 Challenge?
A 1v1 Challenge is a head-to-head quiz battle between two students. You pick the subject and number of questions, then send the challenge. If the other player accepts, the battle starts automatically. Questions alternate between players — you can see what your opponent answered and whether they got it right. The player with the most correct answers wins.
▶ What is a Quiz Room?
A Quiz Room is a live group competition created by a teacher or host. The host picks the subject, number of questions, and time per question. Students join using a 6-character PIN code. Everyone answers each question at the same time within the time limit. At the end, you see the full leaderboard with everyone's scores and rankings.
▶ How do Tournaments work?
Tournaments run automatically — you don't need to sign up. Every challenge match you play counts toward active tournaments. There are:
Weekly Cups (7 days): Subject-specific cups and a cross-subject Weekly Arena. Play 3 matches against 2 different opponents to qualify.
Monthly Leagues (28 days): Monthly Championship, academic-level leagues (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary), and subject leagues. Play 5 matches against 3 different opponents to qualify.
Rewards are given for Skill (top rating), Consistency (most active), Improvement (biggest rating gain), and a Lucky Draw.

▶ What are the rating tiers?
Every player starts at Bronze (100 points). Win challenge battles to climb:
🥉 Bronze: 0–149 points (starting tier)
🥈 Silver: 150–299 points (~3–4 net wins)
🏅 Gold: 300–499 points (~12 net wins)
💎 Elite: 500+ points (25+ net wins)
Losses cost fewer points than wins gain, and the first 2 losses each day have reduced penalties to prevent discouragement.

▶ What are Power-Ups?
Power-ups give you an edge in challenge battles:
50/50: Eliminates 2 wrong answers from a multiple-choice question, leaving just 2 options.
Double Points: Your next correct answer scores 2 points instead of 1.
You earn power-ups by completing Daily Quests and playing your very first quiz (which gives you a starter pack of 2 of each).

▶ Can I watch other people's battles?
Yes! You can join any quiz room or challenge battle as a spectator (if the host allows it). As a spectator you see questions, answers, and the leaderboard in real time. In challenge battles you can also predict who will win and react with emojis. Parents and guardians can watch their children compete too.
▶ What are Streaks and Streak Shields?
Your streak counts how many consecutive days you've played at least one quiz. At 7, 14, and 30-day milestones you earn a Streak Shield. If you miss a day, a shield is used instead of resetting your streak (you can hold up to 5 shields). This keeps your streak alive even on busy days.
🏫 For Teachers & Schools
Assessments, quiz rooms, and school management
▶ How do I create an assessment?
Go to the School section in the app or website. Choose Create Assessment, select the subject, grade, and type (quiz, test, exam, or assignment). Add questions — you can create multiple-choice, true/false, short answer, essay, reading comprehension, and even music questions with audio files. Set the duration, marks, and availability dates, then publish.
▶ How do I host a live Quiz Room?
Open the app → Live Quiz → Host Quiz. Choose the subject, number of questions (up to 50), and time per question (5–300 seconds). You can use questions from the existing bank or write your own custom questions. Once created, share the PIN with your class or tap Invite Students to send push notifications directly to specific students. Approve players in the waiting room, then start the quiz.
▶ How many students can join a Quiz Room?
There's no hard limit — quiz rooms can handle hundreds of students. When creating the room, you can optionally set a maximum participant count if you want to cap it. If you don't set a limit, any number of students can join.
▶ How do I mark student submissions?
Multiple-choice and true/false questions are auto-graded instantly. For essay and short-answer questions, go to the assessment's submissions list, open a student's submission, and enter marks for each question. The total score and percentage are calculated automatically. You can also add written feedback for the student.
▶ What is the Custom Question Bank?
When you create custom questions for a quiz room, they're automatically saved to your personal question bank. You can reuse them in future quizzes, tag them with topics and academic levels (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary), and optionally make them public so other teachers can use them too. The bank also feeds into the question pool for tournaments and challenges.
▶ Can school administrators manage assessments?
Yes. Head teachers can view all assessments in their school, approve or reject them before publication, assign teachers to specific subjects and grades, post school announcements, and access school-wide performance analytics including pass rates by subject and grade.
👪 For Parents & Guardians
Monitoring, reports, and communication
▶ How do I link my child's account?
Sign up as a guardian, then go to the My Students section and add your child by searching for their name or username. Once linked, you'll be able to see their performance, quiz history, and live competition activity.
▶ What reports can I see?
You can view your child's points, rankings, quiz accuracy, time spent studying, and overall progress trends. Weekly performance reports are generated automatically, and you'll receive alerts if your child's performance drops significantly. You can also set academic goals and track whether they're being met.
▶ Can I watch my child's quiz battles?
Yes! Open the Children's Quizzes screen in the app to see any live quiz your child is currently in. If spectators are enabled, tap Watch Live to see the questions, scores, and leaderboard updating in real time. You'll also get push notifications when your child wins a battle or reaches a streak milestone.
▶ Can I message my child through the app?
Yes. There's a built-in messaging feature where guardians and linked students can communicate. You can send encouragement, ask about their studies, or follow up on quiz performance. Optional WhatsApp integration is also available for receiving updates.
📚 Digital Store
Books, resources, and purchases
▶ What can I buy in the store?
The digital store offers study books, revision guides, and educational resources. Browse by category, preview content before buying, and download instantly after purchase. Books are available for students, teachers, or both.
▶ What payment methods are accepted?
We currently accept MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) and Zils. Payments are processed securely and you'll receive a confirmation once the transaction is complete. You can view your full order history in your account.
▶ Can I sell my own books on 25schools?
Yes! Teachers and content creators can register as sellers, create a storefront, upload digital books, set prices, and track their sales and earnings. There's also an affiliate programme where you can earn commissions by referring others to the platform.
🛠 Technical & Account
Account management and troubleshooting
▶ I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap Forgot Password and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link. If you signed up with Google or Facebook, use those login buttons instead — no password needed.
▶ Can I have multiple roles on one account?
Yes. A single account can be used as a student, teacher, guardian, or seller. Your role is determined by how the school administrator sets you up, and you can switch between roles from your profile.
▶ Why can't I access Live Quiz on the website?
Live Quiz Battles, 1v1 Challenges, Tournaments, and the spectator experience are app-exclusive features. They require real-time communication that works best on the mobile app. Download the 25schools app from Google Play to access these features.
