Genres of Literature (Prose)

This topic provides an in-depth study of Prose, focusing on the elements of fiction and non-fiction. Learners will identify and explain components such as setting, plot, character, theme, and point of view. They will practice drawing inferences from texts, analysing prose passages, and composing their own short stories. Aligned with CBC aims, this unit enhances critical thinking, creativity, and analytical writing skills. Mastery of prose elements is fundamental for the 'Text Study' component in Forms 3-4 and is regularly examined by ECZ in comprehension, analysis, and essay questions.
