Relations and Functions
This topic introduces the concepts of relations and functions and their application in real-life situations. Learners will explore relationships in society, describe different types of relations (one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one, many-to-many), and represent them using ordered pairs, arrow diagrams, tables, graphs, and mappings. They will determine features that make a mapping a function, represent functions in the form f: x→a or f(x)=a, and recognise domain and range. This foundational knowledge is vital for understanding more advanced functions in later forms and is a key area in ECZ examinations.
