Let a be first term, r common ratio. ar² = 8/3, ar⁵ = 8/81. Divide: r³ = (8/81)/(8/3) = (8/81)*(3/8)=3/81=1/27 → r = 1/3. Then a*(1/9)=8/3 → a = 8/3 * 9 = 24.
