Cranial nerve VII (Facial) is primarily responsible for facial expression, taste to the anterior two-thirds of the tongue, and lacrimal/salivary gland secretion. It does not directly innervate or control any structures of the eye itself, unlike nerves II (optic), III (oculomotor), IV (trochlear), and VI (abducens) which are all directly involved in vision or eye movement.
Break down complex topics into smaller, manageable chunks for easier recall.
