Q: What does a positive oxidase test look like?
Did You Know?
A reactive treponemal test indicates past or present infection with Treponema pallidum. It does not differentiate between active infection and old, treated disease. In a donor, it typically leads to permanent deferral due to the associated high-risk behavior and potential for very early, undetectable infection.
