FFP must be thawed at a controlled temperature (typically 30-37°C) to preserve the labile clotting factors, especially Factor VIII. Water baths or dry plasma thawers are used. They maintain a constant temperature to ensure even and rapid thawing without overheating, which would destroy the factors.
