Climate Change and Parasitic Diseases
This topic examines the potential impacts of climate change on the distribution and transmission of parasitic diseases covered in this course. Zambian environmental health and public health students will learn how temperature, rainfall, and other climate factors might affect soil-transmitted helminths, Strongyloides, and vector-borne filarial infections. Understanding these potential changes is important for future public health planning. This forward-looking knowledge is included in environmental health and climate change courses at Zambian universities.
