Q: Donor red cells. Incompatibility is indicated by agglutination (clumping) or hemolysis (destruction) of the red cells, which signals the presence of antibodies in the recipient's serum that react with antigens on the donor red cells.

True. The catalase test should be performed on a clean glass slide, porcelain spot plate, or other non-porous surface. The surface should be dry to prevent dilution of hydrogen peroxide. Wooden applicator sticks or paper should not be used as they can give false positives.
