Digital and cyber forensics is an increasingly critical domain for Zambian tertiary students in forensic science, IT, and cybersecurity programs. This topic addresses the identification, preservation, analysis, and presentation of digital evidence from devices like computers, mobile phones, and networks. It covers major cyber threats such as phishing, spyware, cyber terrorism, and denial-of-service attacks, alongside the forensic steps to investigate them. Students will learn the five key stages of digital evidence analysis: identification, collection, examination, analysis, and reporting. In Zambia's growing digital landscape, skills in cyber forensics are essential for combating internet fraud, data breaches, and online harassment. This module prepares university and college graduates for roles in cybercrime units, corporate security, and legal support, ensuring they can navigate the technical and legal complexities of digital evidence in accordance with Zambian laws and international best practices.
