In neutralization, antibodies (primarily IgG) bind to specific sites on pathogens like viruses or bacterial toxins. By physically blocking these critical sites, the antibody prevents the pathogen from attaching to and entering host cells, thereby 'neutralizing' its ability to cause infection.
