Innovation vs. Creativity
Distinguishing between Innovation and Creativity is fundamental for Zambian tertiary students leading change in healthcare. Creativity is the generation of new and useful ideas (e.g., imagining a new drug structure). Innovation is the successful implementation of those creative ideas (e.g., developing, testing, and marketing the drug). Students apply this distinction to health service improvements in Zambia. This knowledge is vital for exams and for effective leadership, as it highlights that having ideas is not enough; leaders must also master the process of turning those ideas into tangible solutions that improve healthcare delivery, efficiency, or patient outcomes.
