When a client has already conceptualized their problem (recognizing they have nervousness/anxiety), the next logical step in the nursing care plan is to help them cope with the present problem. This follows the problem-solving approach where after problem identification comes developing coping strategies. Helping the client cope with the present problem is immediate and practical, focusing on current symptoms and situations rather than long-term meaning-making or future planning. This approach allows the client to develop skills to manage their anxiety in the here and now, which is essential before moving to more complex interventions like finding meaning or planning alternatives.
