Polyclonal antibodies are a mixture of antibodies produced by many different B cell clones in an immunized animal. They recognize multiple different epitopes on the same antigen. This is in contrast to monoclonal antibodies, which are derived from a single B cell clone and recognize a single, specific epitope.
