True. The minor crossmatch (testing donor plasma against recipient red cells) was used to detect donor antibodies that could harm the recipient. However, modern practice uses low-volume plasma components (like in red cell concentrates) and screens donor plasma for high-titer anti-A/B in group O donors. Therefore, the minor crossmatch has been largely abandoned as it provides little additional safety benefit.
