Q: What is the drug of choice for the treatment of neurocysticercosis?
Did You Know?
Cyproheptadine is a first-generation H1 antihistamine with significant anticholinergic (antimuscarinic) and antisero toninergic (5-HT2) activity. The symptoms described (dry mouth, constipation, urinary difficulty) are classic antimuscarinic effects. The increased appetite is a known side effect of cyproheptadine, possibly mediated through serotonin and histamine receptor blockade in the hypothalamus.
