Q: The stretch reflex: The receptor organ is the extrafusal muscle fibre. It does not normally respond to very minor degrees of stretch. The muscle spindles involved are most plentiful in large antigravity muscles. The gamma-efferent fibres supplying the spindles are unmyelinated.
