True. LANA is a multifunctional protein. In addition to its role in viral latency, it has several oncogenic functions. One is its interaction with Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3β (GSK3β), a component of the β-catenin destruction complex. By binding to and inhibiting GSK3β, LANA prevents the phosphorylation and degradation of β-catenin. This leads to β-catenin accumulation and translocation to the nucleus, where it activates WNT target genes, promoting cell proliferation.
