False. The Fc (Fragment, crystallizable) region is the constant tail region of an antibody molecule. It is not involved in antigen binding. Its functions are related to the immune response: it determines the antibody's class (isotype: IgG, IgA, IgM, etc.), mediates binding to Fc receptors on immune cells (triggering phagocytosis, antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity), and activates the complement system. The part of the antibody responsible for specific antigen binding is the Fab (Fragment, antigen-binding) region, located at the tips of the 'Y' shape. The Fab contains the variable domains of both the heavy and light chains, which together form the unique, specific binding site for an epitope. In IHC, secondary antibodies are often designed to bind to the Fc region of the primary antibody.
