Crop Production: Vegetable Production

This topic guides learners through the complete process of growing a variety of vegetables, a central practical component of the Zambian CBC. Students will explore common vegetable groups, select suitable sites, design crop rotation plans, and manage vegetables from nursery to harvest. They will analyse pest characteristics, pesticide modes of action, and practise safe chemical application alongside other weed control methods. This hands-on competency is directly assessed through School-Based Assessment projects and is vital for ECZ theory questions on horticulture. It equips learners with skills for food production, income generation, and understanding sustainable crop management practices.
