Similarity and Congruency
This topic enables learners to use the concepts of similarity and congruency in real contexts. Students will identify similar and congruent shapes in the environment, create such shapes, and design them using ICT tools. They will learn to create scale drawings (e.g., of a classroom or football pitch), calculate scale on a map, and use given scales to calculate lengths and areas. Understanding similarity and congruency is fundamental to geometry, design, and interpreting technical drawings, all of which are important for the competence-based curriculum and for solving ECZ examination problems involving ratios and scale.

Outcomes
If you passExcellent! You understand how shapes can be similar or congruent. This knowledge is crucial for solving geometry problems involving scale and ratio in your exams.
If you don't pass yetFocus on the conditions for similarity (equal angles) and congruency (equal sides and angles). Practice with scale drawings and try the questions again.
