This course examines human development across the lifespan through the integrated lenses of biological, psychological, social, and cultural theories, contextualized for Zambian families and communities. Students learn to assess how systems such as family dynamics, cultural beliefs, economic stressors from the Mining sector, and community networks in urban compounds or rural areas influence individual well-being. This knowledge is vital for Social Workers conducting assessments for child protection cases, supporting families affected by HIV/AIDS, or developing interventions for youth. 25schools supports this complex subject with culturally relevant developmental charts, analysis frameworks for Zambian family structures, and practice questions that help students at Apex and other institutions apply theory to real-world scenarios, preparing them for both exams and ethical, informed practice.
